Quilting:

Summer Tapestry-1 Day
If you’ve been saving “bits and bobs” but didn’t know why, here’s a change to use them up. Using warm browns, golds, greens, rusts and blacks we will create a botanical art quilt that we will finish off with 3 appliqued leaves.
Instructor: Susan Clark
Date: Saturday April 12th
Time: 9:30-3:30pm
Fee: $30 Members/ $60 Non-Members

Discharge Dyeing-1/2 Day
Instead of adding colour, in this class you will explore removing colour with bleach. Create yardage or invidual blocks for a quilt, using pine boughs, ferns and other natural materials.
Instructor: Judy Millard
Date: Saturday, May 24th
Time: 9:30-12:30 pm
Fee: $15 Members/ $30 Non-Members

Let’s Start Quilting-5 Weeks
In five classes, you will learn all the basics of piecing by machine. We will turn four blocks into a table runner or wall hanging. You will be amazed how easily this happens!

Fee: $50 Members Only

Following the Drunkard's Path

It's time to forget about curved seams, templates and too many pins and follow a different Drunkard's Path. By using two simple shapes, a circle and a  square, participants will create the basic Drunkard's Path unit block with machine applique. Three different freezer paper techniques will be used to make blocks in the morning session. In the afternnoon, participants will use a design wall and the blocks constructed in the morning session to create many different desings, both traditional and contemporary.

Maximum 20 participants. Novice to Intermediate

Patchwork Playtime

Start with a block, dyed or paitned fabric, batik, landscape or a gorgeous piece of cloth that you just can't bear to cut up. That is your inspiration. Bring lots of other fabrics to the workshop to play with. Make some patchwork to echo the colours of your complex cloth. Put it all together and let the quilt evolve on the design wall. This two day workshop provides the time for both structured activities and opportunities for creative designing.

Two day workshop. Maximum 20 participants. Novice to Intermediate
