ABOUT THE
AUTHOR
Catherine Elizabeth Swift
is retired with her husband Ted in Woodstock, Ontario. As a teacher
for twenty-five years, she has always enjoyed sharing her stories,
songs and poetry. Her family and two cats have been a tremendous
influence on her writing. She has prepared a picture book series for
special needs students, numerous cat stories, a children’s picture
book, Gramme’s Rainy Day Quilt and another poetry
collection for seniors. A Stitch in Rhyme came
about as a result of her introduction to the Ingersoll Creative Arts
Centre and the Oxford Quilters’ Guild, which cultivated in her a new
passion -
quilting. Now, she divides her time between stitching and rhyme.
Catherine has had five
poems and two articles published in the Chats Canada Cats
magazine, as well as five poems in A Time For Rhyme.
Her poems have been broadcast on CBC and have appeared in a
variety of Canadian newspapers. She has won four separate awards for
her poetry. This is her first book, but definitely not her last.
