..Memories of Lu

…she gave me the bug
the quilting bug
It’s now in my blood
I live, eat and sleep quilting
There is no cure!

…Lu introduced a new word in my vocabulary STOCKPILE

…always had a cheerful word for everyone
always that beautiful smile
and cute little laugh of hers

…blue purple colour, truly Lu’s colours
...who will ever forget early December morning sales?
...mischievous twinkle in her eye
…it was like a social event to shop there

…she gave me all the encouragement
and confidence that I needed
to complete the quilt

…KEEP THOSE SHOULDERS DOWN,
DON’T TENSE UP...RELAX

Lu was the first person who
greeted me made people feel welcome
she was a truly kind person

…it would just bubble out of her
…she honoured hand piecing and hand quilting

...a fervent desire to share quilting

...welcoming hugs
infectious giggle and ever present smile

...the teapot was always ready

…my first two classes
wonderful desserts

…fond memories of Lu sewn in
…infectious giggle …genuinely enthusiastic
…trunk shows at the guild
…FAMILY, FUN, FAVORS & FOOD
This all adds up to many favourable and fond memories of Lu

…that’s not a ¼ “
…two little elves…had already removed the wrongly placed piece
…this “shopkeeper” was so warm and friendly
bubbling over with enthusiasm and fun

…the ever-present love
that she shared with everyone
so very freely

Lu picked out the stitches for me
…Lu (and Willi) were charming

…all the patience in the world

…beginners classes with Lu
Life is short
Live each day

Smile…
Hug someone or something…

… Willi-Lu
...The picture that remains in my mind
is of a cheerful, kind and compassionate friend,
with a wonderfully mischievous twinkle in her eye!!

You are missed Lu…
